EXTREME WEATHER WARNING 16/3/18 - 18/3/18

17 Mar 2018 by Rachael Howard

Please advise your players to start Hydrating themselves today – in preparations for extreme heat tomorrow.

Unlimited interchanges – bring your own shelter and extra drinks

Enjoy the day.
All trials are still on however, there are heat guidelines which our Referees Association are completely up to date with and I have attached a copy .
Everyone must use a very big dose of common sense.
Clubs should ensure that a message goes out to all of our teams/managers/trainers that they must be hydrating today to combat any heat fatigue tomorrow. Referees will factor in plenty of drinks breaks and there should be multiple shelters/umbrellas for all.
Trainers and Referees, along with players, are at risk in this heat and they must also be well hydrated.
Hydrolyte ice-blocks, frozen face washers/towels are a great idea to wrap around the body in extreme temperatures to keep players and officials cool
Be considerate of players in both teams and be on the lookout. This is an opportunity to ensure that there are plenty of player rotations to give players a rest break.
